Lillstreet Art Center (“Lillstreet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates lillstreet.com and provides art classes, camps, workshops, studio memberships, and gallery sales. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
Information you provide when you create an account
Your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and a password. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google, and we use them only to create your account and sign you in. We do not use the information we receive from Google Sign-In for advertising, and we do not share it with our advertising or analytics providers. The same applies if you sign in with another provider, such as Facebook. If you enable two-factor authentication, we store the information needed to operate it.
Information you provide about students
When you register a student for a class, camp, or workshop, we collect the student’s name, date of birth, pronouns, contact information, and mailing address. We also collect information that allows us to run programs safely, including emergency contact names, relationships, and phone numbers; the names of people authorized to pick up a student; whether a student may sign themselves out; and any medical or allergy information you choose to give us.
Many students are children. The information above is provided by a parent or guardian, not collected from the child directly. See the Children’s information section below.
Information related to purchases
When you buy a class, membership, gift certificate, or gallery item, we record what you purchased, the amount, the date, and the type of payment used. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe, and are not stored on our systems.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website we and our analytics and advertising providers may collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and approximate location derived from your IP address. See the Cookies and tracking technologies section below.
Photographs
We sometimes photograph classes, camps, and studio activities, and we may use those images to promote Lillstreet’s programs. You may opt a student out of photography through your account at any time, and we honor that choice going forward across our promotional materials.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and administer your account and process your registrations and orders.
- Run our programs safely, including contacting you in an emergency, releasing students only to authorized individuals, and accommodating medical needs and allergies.
- Take payment, issue refunds, and maintain financial records.
- Communicate with you about registrations, schedule changes, and account matters.
- Send marketing communications, where you have signed up to receive them.
- Understand how our website is used and improve it.
- Advertise our programs, including showing ads to people who have visited our website.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Sensitive information
Medical and allergy information is collected only so that we can keep students safe during programs. We use it for that purpose, and we make it available only to staff who need it to supervise a student. We do not use medical information for marketing or advertising, and we do not disclose it to advertising or analytics providers.
Children’s information
Lillstreet’s programs include classes and camps for children. Accounts are intended to be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian, and information about a child is provided to us by that adult rather than collected from the child directly. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create an account or provide personal information to us directly.
We do not use children’s personal information for targeted advertising. A parent or guardian may review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s information at any time by signing in to their account or by contacting us using the details below. If we learn that we have collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it.
Cookies and tracking technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them in the following categories.
Strictly necessary
Required for the website to work. These keep you signed in, maintain your shopping cart, and protect against cross-site request forgery. The site cannot function without them and they cannot be turned off.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, which pages are popular, and where problems occur.
Advertising
We use Google Ads and the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show ads about our programs to people who have visited our website. These technologies may allow Google and Meta to recognize your browser across other websites.
Third-party features
Our newsletter signup form is provided by Mailchimp, and our social sharing buttons are provided by AddToAny. These providers may set their own cookies.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though doing so may prevent parts of the site from working. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, and you can adjust ad personalization in your Google and Meta account settings. Some browsers offer a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor where required by law.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it in the following circumstances.
Service providers
We share information with companies that perform services for us, including Stripe for payment processing, UPS for shipping, Mailchimp for email, and our hosting, network, and student records system providers. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
Analytics and advertising providers
As described above, Google and Meta receive information about your interactions with our website so that we can measure and target our advertising. Under some state privacy laws this is considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can limit it using the controls described in the cookies section above, or by contacting us.
Legal and safety
We may disclose information where required by law, to respond to legal process, to protect the safety of a student or another person, or to establish or defend legal claims.
Business transfers
If Lillstreet is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. In general, we keep student and registration records for seven years after a student’s last program, financial and order records for seven years to meet tax and accounting obligations, and marketing contacts until you unsubscribe. We may keep information longer where a longer period is required by law or where records are needed to establish or defend a legal claim.
Your choices and rights
Marketing email
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You may also contact us to be removed. We will still send messages necessary to administer your registrations and orders.
Account information
You can review and update your account details and student records by signing in to your account.
Analytics and advertising
You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, adjust ad personalization in your Google and Meta account settings, and manage cookies through your browser as described above.
State privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy of it, to correct it, to request that we delete it, and to opt out of targeted advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and a parent or guardian may make a request on behalf of their child.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and optional two-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party links
Our website links to sites we do not control. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date above. If changes are significant, we will provide additional notice.
