“I create objects that reflect on elements from everyday life through hand fabrication. My experiences in the United States and China inform my identity and are a central inspiration for my practice, and I embed symbolism from Chinese culture and my understanding of the world in my work.

My goal is to tell my stories such that viewers may find them personally relatable. I want to continue to share parts of myself – past and present – in the hope that viewers might find comfort and connection. Now, with a subjective consciousness, I look back on my past experiences to find the ways I might have become a better version of myself, and to have more confidence in the future. In turn, viewers are no longer solely reminiscing about feelings from the past – I invite and encourage them to imagine how they too might change and envision a brighter future.”
