Textiles Artist-in-Residence, Kristin Field, presents ‘leaf root flower fruit’ in Lillstreet’s second floor Annex Gallery. leaf root flower fruit is a naturally dyed textile exhibit that examines connections between art, science, & nature and highlights working with four natural dyes: indigo leaves, madder root, coreopsis flowers, & black walnuts. ⁠

The processes involved in the creation of these pieces are time and labor intensive. From using stitched shibori to create surface designs, to embroidery, to the process of natural dyeing itself, the work underscores the value of slowing down and how doing so allows us to see details and interconnections that we might otherwise miss.⁠
