Professional Practices for Artists
This course is designed to help artists like you achieve success in the art world. Each week, you'll set and work towards professional goals to enhance your various roles as an artist. We'll cover essential skills such as developing cohesive work, creating effective project structures, writing a compelling artist statement and identifying exhibition opportunities. You'll also learn about curatorial strategies and gain knowledge on essential studio practices such as documentation and inventory management. This class will culminate in an exhibition in the Lillstreet Annex gallery, where you will gain practical experience in curating, preparing, and installing an exhibition. Join a community of artists and learn from each other as you work to create personalized systems that will work best for your life and art practice.

2D Mixed Media Exploration
Experiment with a variety of media in this class including drawing and painting materials, stencils, stamps, print plates, and collage. Discover how these different media interact with each other. We’ll also work on formal issues such as shape, line, color, and texture. Starts Tuesday, April 11 and Tuesday, May 9.
