This class will focus on the rituals of everyday eating and the crafting of handmade works related to the experience. The context of discussions will include exploring students’ own history of food with an emphasis on passion for pies. There will be one (optional) field trip. Students will be encouraged to have fun with topics related to eating, pies, and cooking while creating handbuilt, functional, and sculptural works for their own use. Beginners welcome! Each student receives two shelves to store work, clay, and tools for the duration of the class.
