This class is perfect for those new to drawing and painting portraits or those looking to delve deeper into the subject. Starting with the fundamentals of facial proportion and working our way up to non-figurative techniques, we will investigate concepts such as linear perspective, composition, and color usage in portraiture. We will also study various historical and contemporary portrait artists for inspiration. The class will gradually progress from drawing to painting, and there will be opportunities to work with live models. By the end of the class, you will have the skills to draw and paint traditional portraits confidently and have fun experimenting with non-traditional techniques.
