REGISTRATION

We strongly encourage you to pre-register to ensure a space in a class. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis with a 50% deposit required. Balance is due on the first day of class. Workshops must be paid in full at the time of registration. We reserve the right to make corrections to prices and discounts for registrations made through this website.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY FOR DROPPED CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

Classes are canceled when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellation begins approximately one week before the scheduled first class. Workshops and special events not meeting enrollment minimums will be canceled two to three days before the start date. Visiting artist workshops will be canceled at least 21 days before the start date. Lillstreet cannot assume responsibility for travel costs for out-of-town students. Please contact us to confirm the workshop status before booking travel. Students will be notified if classes are canceled and will be eligible for a full refund or class credit.

Tuition is refundable for all classes and workshops dropped more than two weeks prior to the session start date, minus a $15 cancellation fee, or students can opt for full studio credit to be applied to their account. A 50% studio credit (no refund) can be applied for classes dropped during the week prior to the session start date and during the first week of the session. Classes dropped after the first week of the session are not eligible for a credit or refund except in cases of a medical emergency. Students are responsible for notifying the Lillstreet staff that they wish to drop a class or workshop. Not attending class does not constitute an official withdrawal or cancellation of tuition or fees. Custom classes, workshops, visiting artist workshops, and summer camps have separate cancellation policies. Below, please see each class for their individual policies.

COVID-19 IN-PERSON CLASS REFUND POLICY

If you have been exposed to or display symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to Lillstreet Art Center for your in-person class. Contact our front desk immediately and we will offer a prorated credit (never expires) or refund for two weeks of your missed class for all cancellations due to suspected COVID-19 infection and/or exposure. If you choose to drop the remainder of your class, you will receive a prorated credit for the remainder of the class’s duration.

SUMMER CAMP CANCELLATION AND PAYMENT POLICIES

Tuition for summer camps is refundable, minus a $15 cancellation fee for each camp, if the office is notified by MAY 17th 2021.

Camps dropped after May 17th, but more than two weeks prior to the start date are eligible for a camp credit. Camps dropped one week or less prior to the start date are not eligible for camp credit or refund. Absences due to medical reasons will be eligible for a camp credit. 50% deposits for summer camp registrations are accepted until May 1. All open balances from registrations made with deposits must be paid in full by May 31 2021. Registrations made after May 1 must be paid in full.

COVID-19 IN-PERSON CAMP

If you or your child have been exposed to or display symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to Lillstreet Art Center for your in-person camp. We will offer a prorated credit (never expires) or refund for the remainder of your camp and for any cancellations due to suspected COVID-19 infection and/or exposure.

CUSTOM CLASS AND WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICIES

Custom classes and workshops that are canceled after a deposit is made will result in the forfeiting of the deposit.  If you would like to reschedule, your deposit can be held and applied to a different date.  Custom classes are not refundable.

VISITING ARTIST WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICIES

Visiting Artist workshop registrants who cancel 30 days or less to the beginning of a Visiting Artist workshop will not be refunded. A cancellation fee of $40 will be charged on all other cancellations. We reserve the right to cancel a Visiting Artist workshop if the minimum enrollments are not met, in which case all Visiting Artist workshop fees will be refunded to participants. Notifications will be made two weeks prior to a Visiting Artist workshop's start date. Lillstreet Art Center cannot be held responsible for airline tickets or other travel costs in the event of a cancellation. Full payment for workshops is due in order to reserve a space.

CREDITS

Most tuition credits are good indefinitely towards any classes or workshops and are not redeemable for cash under any circumstances. Classes dropped during the first week of each session are only eligible for a studio credit equal to half of the full tuition cost of the class. Studio credits from late drop-outs or cancellations can only be applied to tuition. If you have questions, please ask when the studio credit is issued. If Lillstreet Art Center cancels a class, students are eligible for a full refund. Class credits (not refunds) are issued for classes dropped due to documented medical reasons. Camp tuition credits can only be used for camps, classes, and workshops and are not redeemable for cash value.

LOW ENROLLMENT

Lillstreet Art Center does reserve the right to cancel classes, workshops and camps due to low enrollment both online and in person. If a class is canceled, students are eligible for a full refund. You will be contacted at least 3 days prior to the start date of the class. A minimum enrollment of 6 students is usually required for a class to run. Please register early to ensure your preferred class will run.

HOLIDAYS

For classes that fall on holidays, it is up to the individual teachers and students to decide whether to hold the class or to schedule a make-up class later in the session.

MISSED CLASSES

Make-up classes are scheduled each term for classes canceled by LAC or the instructor. Make-up classes are scheduled during the week immediately following the last week of the session and are considered part of the term. Students unable to attend the scheduled make-up class will not be issued a refund. There are no refunds or credits issued for classes that were scheduled to run and not attended by the student.

SKILL LEVELS

Programs are divided into skill levels:

Beginners/Advanced Beginners: Introduction to basic techniques. Classes are designed for the true novice and returning students in need of a refresher or further instruction.

Multilevel: Open to both beginners and experienced students. Classes are designed for students of all skill levels with projects appropriate for each.

Intermediate/Advanced: Development of skill and exploration of theme and content. Classes are designed for students who have completed beginner courses at Lillstreet or have a professional background and are looking for refresher courses, advanced skills, and studio time. Students not previously enrolled at Lillstreet should seek the approval of the instructor before enrollment.

TOOLS

Students may be required to purchase a tool kit from Lillstreet or other materials in order to complete classwork. Unless otherwise specified, materials will be provided for the first class session and students will receive a supply list for purchase.

OPEN STUDIO

In order to adhere to CDC, State of Illinois, and the City of Chicago guidelines for reopening, our in-person, summer 2020 session will have limited access to open studio. This will vary by department but all open studio access will require advanced registration.

CHILDREN TAKING ADULT CLASSES

In order to register for an adult class, students must be 16 years of age. Younger students may petition to enroll in an adult class by emailing lillstreet@lillstreet.com. If granted permission, a parent or guardian may be required to sign a waiver.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Lillstreet Art Center is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all students. We reserve the right to refuse student retention for those who violate the Code of Conduct without incurring obligations.

CODE OF CONDUCT: COVID-19

We have followed CDC and Restore Illinois Guidelines for Phase 4 to put in place measures that provide a safe and healthy environment for staff, students and visitors. Our expectations for staff, students and visitors are posted throughout the building, posted on our website on each department page, and are available here.

PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE

By registering for this class, you grant Lillstreet Art Center permission to photograph or video you or your child's participation in Lillstreet Art Center’s education programs. LAC retains the right to use these images at its discretion without incurring obligation.

PARKING

Lillstreet Art Center is an urban art center without a dedicated parking lot. We cannot predict the parking space that will be available when you arrive for class. The inability to locate parking is not a valid reason to request a class credit or refund.
