Pinhole Viewers with Momoko Usami (3 Hours)

Level: Adult Workshops

Price: LAC Members $25.00 / Non-Members $25.00

Class Description

Momoko Usami was a past Lillstreet artist in residence who is currently creating her unique work in the Midwest.  She is known for her inventive approach to ceramic forms, fusing both sculpture and function.  Momoko's wares are magical and playful, reflecting personal narratives that are very accessible and inviting.  Images of her work can be found here and rotating in Lillstreet's Gallery.

In this workshop, Momoko will show students how to construct a pinhole viewer out of clay. The finished product will be a small vessel with which one can view a distorted reflection of their environment.  Not only will students learn how to construct their very own viewer, but also walk away having experienced an approach to clay that only Momoko can provide.  Students will need to bring a leather-hard vessel for the workshop, the specifics will be emailed to students once they have signed up.
