Class Description

Discover new ways to experiment with fiber. Our Teaching Artist will introduce you to a variety of hand stitching and fiber collage techniques to incorporate into your experimental process. Learn about new materials as you create samples for your own unique stitch journal of practice, process, and play. You will receive prompts and organization tips to continue your practice and exploration. Ages 13 and up, with required prerequisites, are welcome to register for this class. Basic hand sewing skills required

Student Information

Kit includes:

  • Assorted fabric and fiber scraps
  • Some fabric for practice and pages
  • Some embroidery floss and crochet thread
  • A sewing needle
  • Double sided interfacing for patches


Supplies students will need:

  • Scissors
  • Safety pins
  • Thimble (optional)
  • Additional thread (optional)
  • Small embroidery hoop (optional)
  • Ribbons, beads, sequins and fiber items to incorporate into your journal (optional)


You will be emailed Zoom meeting instructions, including a unique URL and meeting code to join the class at least 1 day before the start of the class. If you do not receive an email from your instructor or registered within 24 hours of the first scheduled class, please contact the front desk ASAP.

Class cancellations can happen if enrollment minimums are not met 2 days prior to the first class. If your class is canceled, you will be contacted via phone or email.

If your class comes with a required or optional kit:  All kits will be available for contactless pick-up the weekend prior to the session's start date, Thursday, September 10 (Session I) & Thursday, October 15 (Session II), between 12-3
