Class Description

Do you have old tin containers lying around collecting dust in your home (i.e. cookie or popcorn tins)? Join me in this challenge of giving your tin a repurposed life by utilizing cold-fabrication techniques to create a hinged box that will hold business cards or other tiny treasures. Prerequisite: Basic Metalsmithing skills

Student Information

Material kit includes:

1 dozen 6/0 saw blades

Brass wire

All kits will be available for contactless pick-up the week prior to the start date.


Required tools:

3” Depth Saw Frame or Various Depths Saw Frames

Bench Pin with Clamp or Bench Pin without Clamp (C-Clamp can be purchased from local hardware store)

Bench block (Either size will work)

Ball peen hammer Item No: 260-704

Flat nose pliers

6” Flat Metal File Item No: 230-216-2

1 Needle File Item No: 231-515-2


This interactive online class is presented via Zoom. Please download Zoom (, and register your email address prior to your first class.
