5 painting surfaces, 16 x 20 inches or larger. This can be stretched canvas, a canvas pad, or canvas panel.
A set of large tube oil paints, 150 - 200 ml. I recommend Dick Blick brand student grade oils in 200 ml tubes. Recommended colors: cadmium red hue, titanium white, lamp or ivory black, ultramarine blue, and lemon yellow. It’s great to pick out a few other colors you like as well. Purple and orange are hard colors to mix for example and are nice to have.
A bottle of linseed or sunflower oil for thinning paint.
A bottle of Gamsol (probably one of the safest paint thinners with no smell) for diluting oil paint and cleaning brushes.
Hog bristle or stiff synthetic bristle brushes. We will mostly use 1, 2, and 3 inch cheap house painting brushes. Nicer art brushes are optional, but having a few small ones will give you a little more mark making diversity. Note that the techniques we use will mostly require cheap large brushes and not nice thin art brushes.
A jar or can to clean your brushes in.
Some bowls, reusable or disposable, to mix larger quantities of paint in.
A plate, or butches tray (preferred), or any tray to mix paint on.
Paper towels or a couple rags.

Optional items we may experiment with but are not required:
Uncooked egg
Sand
Masking tape
Scissors
Archival glue
Drawing paper
Charcoal
