Class Description

Learn how to create jewelry and sculpture with copper electroforming processes then use enameling techniques to add color and finishes. Electroforming is a metal plating process that slowly deposits copper on to the surface of objects to create more density and support. We will create work by plating on foils, waxes and plastics. Once we grasp how to electroform copper, we can add color by kiln fusing powder and liquid form glass enamel to your work. Prerequisite: One Beginning Metalsmithing, Metalsmithing I or instructor approval; Enameling experience is helpful but not necessary.
