Adult Classes and Workshops

All of our adult classes are separated by department. Visit our First-Time artist section if you are new to the arts, or are looking to try a medium that you've never experimented with before.

Not sure where to start? Let curiosity get the best of you with Lillstreet's First-Time Artist program. These four-or five-week introductory courses allow students with no previous experience to explore different media with other first-time artists. Learn new techniques in a no-pressure environment. Please note that these classes are open to beginners only and there is a limit of 2 sessions per student.

Lillstreet's long-established clay department offers classes for the total beginner, casual novice or advanced student. Start with the basics of handbuilding and wheelthrowing while you work your way up to creating platters, bowls, teapots, sets on trays, and more. Take advantage of our 200 glaze combinations, firing, and state-of-the art equipment.

Lillstreet’s textile arts are growing rapidly by demand. This department is for those students looking to take the art of cloth to a new level. From the basics to knitting, dyeing, printing and embellishment, students are literally forming their own unique style. Through a combination of classes and workshops, students can complete original yardage, fashions, home accessories and even two-and three-dimensional artwork.

Our newest department!  Digital Arts offer exciting opportunities to explore technology and digital media as a artistic outlet. This spring we offer our first classes in Digital Photography. Over the summer and fall, our offerings will expand to include other digital media.

The Visiting Artist Workshops will focus on bringing in nationally recognized artists. They are designed to provide new challenges and education for Lillstreet students and artists within our community.  This will be a continuing rotation of artists, so check back often!

The printmaking area offers a range of courses in a variety of traditional print media: relief, intaglio, monoprint, litho transfers and screenprinting (used in monotype and intaglio). We place particular emphasis on expanding the artist’s ideas and options with his/her work. Most courses cover and explore many non-traditional and mixed media approaches as well as in-depth teaching of traditional printmaking techniques.

Lillstreet offers courses in a broad spectrum of 2 dimensional media, from watercolor to printmaking. Beginning classes introduce students to the study of visual arts, and encourage the development of technical skill and personal creativity. Advanced students will refine their skill, enabling their own artistic vision while encouraging their dedication to studio practice.

Welcome to Lillstreet’s esteemed Jewelry and Metalsmithing department. Here you will find courses that give you access to create original accessories like earrings, rings, necklaces, glass beads and more! The department boasts two large metal studios and one glass studio. Lillstreet offers an atmosphere appropriate for novice and expert alike. Students can join a class confident that they will learn the basic skills required to complete a few one-of-a kind pieces.

The glass studio is a vital part of Lillstreet Art Center's studio community.  Classes allow students to explore several different glass techniques such as bead making, fusing, kiln casting and sculpture.  All levels of students are supported in an educational and relaxed setting. Join us on the third floor to create beautiful glass forms!

Whether you come to Lillstreet to bond with your co-workers, innovate with your business team, or celebrate a special event with friends, you'll leave inspired to take your creativity to the next level.
